The author traces the life of mankind in general, speaking about childhood and the journey through life. When one departs from the Truth, he follows his own sinful nature and gets lost, ending up at the pig's trough. Only by realizing that he is a lost and fallen creature can he be prepared for the road back home. When he realizes that Christ has died for him, the road concludes by following Christ and returning to the Father.
